- Teaches fundamentals of outdoor and nature photography.Credits - 3. Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 2 hours. Total 4 hours per week.
3 credits - PHT 110 - History of Photography
- Surveys important photographers, processes, and historical influences of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.Lecture 3 hours per week.
3 credits - PHT 120 - Screenwriting
- Focuses on the craft of writing for the screen. Examines film and television screenplay structure. Analyzes dramatic strategies in film and television. Learn and apply correct script form and creatively engage in the various stages of original scriptwriting.This course is cross-listed with CST 120. 3 credits - PHT 135 - Electronic Darkroom
- Teaches students to create and manipulate digital photographs. Covers masking, color corrections, and merging of illustrations with photographs. Examines the ethical and property-rights issues which are raised in the manipulation of images.Lecture 2 hour. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 5 hours per week.
3 credits - PHT 150 - Film Production I
- Introduces students to the basic techniques and procedures involved in motion picture production. Emphasizes aspects of filmmaking from scripting and preproduction through editing and postproduction. Includes the exploration of professional film crew roles in grip, lighting, production management, directing, sound and editing. Part I of II. This course is cross-listed with ART 160. 3 credits - PHT 151 - Film Production II
- Reinforces techniques covered in Film Production I emphasizing technical and theoretical aspects of the filmmaking process. Requires student collaboration on film assignments from scripting and preproduction through editing and postproduction, and roles in grip, lighting, production management, directing, sound, and editing. Part II of II. This course is cross-listed with ART 161. Credit will not be awarded for both.Lecture 2 hours. Lab 2 hours. Total 4 hours per week.
Film Production I3 credits - PHT 164 - Introduction to Digital Photography
- Teaches the fundamentals of photography including camera function, composition, and image production as they apply to digital imagery.Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 5 hours per week.

- Provides an opportunity to explore topical areas of interest to or needed by students.May be used also for special honors courses. May be repeated for credit. Variable hours.
1-5 credits - PHT 216 - Outdoor and Wildlife Photography
- Teaches advanced wildlife, outdoor and nature photography. Covers topics such as flash, hyperfocal distance, and maximizing the cameras' digital potential.Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 2 hours. Total 4 hours per week.
3 credits - PHT 221 - Studio Lighting I
- Examines advanced lighting and camera techniques under controlled studio conditions. Includes view camera use, electronic flash, advanced lighting techniques, color temperature and filtration, and lighting ratios. Requires outside shooting. Part I of II.Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 5 hours per week.
3 credits - PHT 222 - Studio Lighting II
- Examines advanced lighting and camera techniques under controlled studio conditions. Includes view camera use, electronic flash, advanced lighting techniques, color temperature and filtration, and lighting ratios. Requires outside shooting. Part II of II.Lecture 2 hours. - Examines advanced topics relating to commercial photography. Emphasizes advertising, portraiture, and commercial and public relations.Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 5 hours per week.
3 credits - PHT 247 - Alternative Photographic Processes
- Explores manipulated imagery including traditional and non- traditional processes such as non-silver and electronic imaging. Uses enlarged film negatives in order to investigate a variety of methods.Lecture 1 hour. Laboratory 4 hours. Total 5 hours per week.
3 credits - PHT 264 - Digital Photography II
- Teaches theory and practice of digital photography. Emphasizes use of digital cameras in studio and on location. Teaches advanced techniques of image editing. Provides training in digital image transmission from remote locations.Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 5 hours per week.
3 credits - PHT 274 - Digital Film Editing and Post Production
- Introduces students to techniques and procedures involved in digital film editing and post production. Covers aspects of editing to include industry standard software packages. Emphasizes the mechanics and obstacles of working with the moving image in the 21st century including available tools and methods, importance of file types, and how to keep things organized.Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 2 hours. Total 4 hours per week.
3 credits - PHT 296 - On-Site Training
- Specializes in career orientation and training program without pay in selected businesses and industry, supervised and coordinated by the college.Credit/work ratio not to exceed 1:5 hours. May be repeated for credit. Variable hours.
1-5 credits - PHT 298 - Seminar and Project
- Requires completion of a project or research report related to the student's occupational objectives and a study of approaches to the selection and pursuit of career opportunities in the field.May be repeated for credit. Variable hours.
