ELE 126 - Electricity and Shop Power Distribution
Teaches basic electricity and shop power distribution systems to acquaint the industrial machine mechanic with the nature and requirements of electrical power and machinery. Includes the nature of electricity, basic DC and AC circuits, power requirements, protection systems, basic measurements and safety precautions. May require preparation of a report as an out-of-class activity.
Lecture 1 hour. Laboratory 2 hours. Total 3 hours per week.

ELE 133 - Practical Electricity I
Teaches the fundamentals of electricity, terminology, symbols, and diagrams. Includes the principles essential to the understanding of general practices, safety and the practical aspects of residential and non-residential wiring and electrical installation, including fundamentals of motors and controls. Pre/Corequisite MTH 02 or equivalent. Part I of II.
Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 2 hours. Total 4 hours per week.

ELE 134 - Practical Electricity II
Teaches the fundamentals of electricity, terminology, symbols, and diagrams. ELE 135 - National Electrical Code - Residential
Studies purposes and interpretations of the national electrical code that deals with single and multi-family dwellings, including state and local regulations.
Lecture 2-3 hours. Laboratory 2-4 hours. Total 4-5 hours per week.

ELE 136 - National Electrical Code - Commercial
Provides comprehensive study of the purposes and interpretations of national electrical wiring methods, including state and local regulations.
Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 5 hours per week.

ELE 137 - National Electrical Code - Industrial
Provides comprehensive study of the purposes and interpretations of the National Electrical Code that deal primarily with industrial wiring methods, including state and local regulations.
Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 2 hours. Total 4 hours per week.

ELE 140 - Basic Electricity and Machinery
Studies direct and alternating current principles, resistors, magnetism, capacitors, protection systems, switches, controls and power distribution for industrial machine shops. Emphasizes test procedures and safety.
Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory 2 hours. Total 5 hours per week.

ELE 156 - Electrical Control Systems
Includes troubleshooting and servicing electrical controls, electric motors, motor controls, motor starters, relays, overloads, instruments and control circuits.
Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 2 hours. Total 4 hours per week.

ELE 159 - Electrical Motors
Teaches practical applications and fundamentals of A.C. and D.C. machines. Includes the conccepts of magnetism and generators used in electrical motor applications.
Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 2 hours. Total 4 hours per week.

ELE 197 - Cooperative Education
Supervises in on-the-job training for pay in approved business, industrial and service firms, coordinated by the college's cooperative education office. Is applicable to all occupational- technical curricula at the discretion of the college.
Credit/work ratio not to exceed 1:5 hours. May be repeated for credit. Variable hours.

ELE 199 - Supervised Study
Assigns problems for independent study incorporating previous instruction and supervised by the instructor.
May be repeated for credit. Variable hours.

ELE 239 - Programmable Controllers
Deals with installation, programming, interfacing, and concepts of troubleshooting programmable controllers. Co/Prerequisite ETR 156 and ELE 211 or equivalent, or permission of instructor.
Lecture 1-2 hours. Laboratory 2 hours. Total 3-4 hours per week.

ELE 297 - Cooperative Education
