ELE 115 - Basic Electricity
Covers basic circuits and theory of fundamental concepts of electricity. Presents a practical approach to discussion of components and devices. Prerequisite: MTH 02 or equivalent.
Lecture 2-3 hours per week.

ELE 118 - Practical Electricity
Teaches fundamentals of electricity, terminology and symbols, diagrams, the principles essential to the understanding of general practices, safety and the practical aspects of residential and non-residential wiring, electrical installation.
Lecture 1 hour. Laboratory 2 hours. Total 3 hours per week.

ELE 138 - National Electrical Code Review I
Covers purpose and interpretation of the National Electrical Code as well as various charts, code rulings and wiring methods. Prepares the student to take the journeyman- level exam.
Lecture 2-3 hours per week.

ELE 149 - Wiring Methods in Industry
Studies the fundamentals of industrial power distribution, circuits, switches, enclosures, panels, fuses, circuit breakers, transformers, and wiring methods, using various charts and tables of the National Electrical Code.
Lecture 2-3 hours. Laboratory 2-3 hours. Total 4-6 hours per week.

ELE 152 - Electrical-Electronic Calculations I
Includes general math, scale readings, conversions between units of measure and algebra with exponents and radicals as it applies to DC circuits.[First of a three-sequence course].
Lecture 3-4 hours per week.

ELE 153 - Electrical-Electronic Calculations II
Includes a review of DC applications, angular measurements, right triangle ratios, vector and vector algebra as it appies to AC circuits. [Second of a three-sequence course]. Prerequisite: ELE 152.
Lecture 3-4 hours per week.

ELE 159 - Electrical Motors
Teaches practical applications and fundamentals of A.C. and D.C. machines. Includes the conccepts of magnetism and generators used in electrical motor applications.
Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 2 hours. Total 4 hours per week.

ELE 190 - Coordinated Internship
Supervises on-the-job training in selected business, industrial or service firms coordinated by the college.
Credit/practice ratio not to exceed 1:5 hours. May be repeated for credit. Variable hours.

ELE 195 - Topics In
Provides an opportunity to explore topical areas of interest to or needed by students.
May be used also for special honors courses. May be repeated for credit. Variable hours.

ELE 196 - On-Site Training
Specializes in career orientation and training program without pay in selected businesses and industry, supervised and coordinated by the college.
Credit/work ratio not to exceed 1:5 hours. May be repeated for credit. Variable hours.

Supervises in on-the-job training for pay in approved business, industrial and service firms, coordinated by the college's cooperative education office. Is applicable to all occupational- technical curricula at the discretion of the college.

Assigns problems for independent study incorporating previous instruction and supervised by the instructor.
