- WEL 170 - Maritime Sheilded Metal Arc Fillet Welding (SMAW I)
- Provides an introduction to Maritime Shielded Metal Arc Fillet Welding (SMAW). Focuses on equipment setup, adjustment and maintenance, safety, and electrode selection. Includes preparation of labs to develop welding skills on carbon steels using small and large diameter covered electrodes in all positions on fillet welds. Provides an introduction to specific types of electrodes and base materials used in SMAWI welding.Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 5 hours per week.
