DRF 111 - Technical Drafting I
Introduces technical drafting from the fundamentals through advanced drafting practices. Teaches lettering, metric construction, technical sketching, orthographic projection, sections, intersections, development, fasteners, theory and applications of dimensioning and tolerances. Includes pictorial drawing, and preparation of working and detailed drawings. Part I of II.
Lecture 1-2 hours. Laboratory 2-6 hours. Total 3-7 hours per week.

DRF 121 - Mechanical Drafting I
Teaches basic principles of machine drafting and design, drafting instruments and materials, engineering lettering, orthographic projection, freehand detail drafting. Explains geometric construction, sectioning, primary and secondary auxiliaries, dimensioning, tolerances and allowances, pictorial drawing, threads and common fasteners, detail and assembly drawing. Part I of II.
Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory 12 hours. Total 15 hours per week.

DRF 122 - Mechanical Drafting II

Teaches applications of drafting procedures with emphasis on working and functional drawings and direct applications to electrical and electronic components and circuits.

DRF 161 - Blueprint Reading I
Teaches the application of basic principles, visualization, orthographic projection, detail of drafting shop processes and terminology, assembly drawings and exploded views. Considers dimensioning, changes and corrections, classes of fits, tolerances and allowances, sections and convention in blueprint reading.
Lecture 0-1 hours. Laboratory 0-3 hours. Total 1-4 hours per week.

DRF 162 - Blueprint Reading II
Emphasizes industrial prints, auxiliary views, pictorial drawings, simplified drafting procedures, production drawing, operation sheets, tool drawing, assembly drawings, and detailed prints.

Provides an opportunity to explore topical areas of interest to or needed by students.
May be used also for special honors courses. May be repeated for credit. Variable hours.

Surveys computer-aided drafting equipment and concepts. Develops general understanding of components, operations and use of a typical CAD system.

Teaches computer-aided drafting concepts and equipment designed to develop a general understanding of components of a typical CAD system and its operation.

Teaches production drawings and advanced operations in computer aided drafting.

Teaches advanced CAD applications. Includes customization and/or use of advanced software.

Teaches use of drafting equipment and applications, emphasizing knowledge and skill required for industrial drawing. Includes piping, gearing, geometric and positional tolerances and 2D/3D drawing layout.

Teaches concepts of sheet metal fabrication including radii, fillets and tolerances, electrical and electronics symbols and drawing, and advanced design drafting techniques.

DRF 231 - Computer Aided Drafting I
Teaches computer aided drafting concepts and equipment designed to develop a general understanding of components and operate a typical CAD system.

Teaches advanced operation in computer aided drafting.

Exposes student to 3-D and modeling. Focuses on proficiency in Production drawing using a CAD system.

DRF 246 - Sheet Metal Drafting
Teaches principles of sheet metal layout, development and common intersections. Explains development of patterns, templates and stretch-outs. Teaches calculation and computation of bends and radii, as well as datum line, coordinate and dimensioning of sheet metal layouts.
Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 5 hours per week.

DRF 297 - Cooperative Education
Supervises in on-the-job training for pay in approved business, industrial and service firms, coordinated by the college's cooperative education office. Is applicable to all occupational- technical curricula at the discretion of the college.
Credit/work ratio not to exceed 1:5 hours. May be repeated for credit. Variable hours.
