ITN 100 - Introduction to Telecommunications
Surveys data transmission systems, communication lines, data sets, network, modes of transmission, protocols, and interfacing. Emphasizes network structure and operation.
Lecture 3-4 hours per week.

ITN 101 - Introduction to Network Concepts
Provides instruction in networking media, physical and logical topologies, common networking standards and popular networking protocols. Emphasizes the TCP/IP protocol suite and related IP addressing schemes, including CIDR. Includes selected topics in network implementation, support and LAN/WAN connectivity.

ITN 106 - Microcomputer Operating Systems
Teaches use of operating system utilities and multiple-level directory structures, creation of batch files, and configuration of microcomputer environments. May include a study of graphical user interfaces.

ITN 107 - Personal Computer Hardware and Troubleshooting
Includes specially designed instruction to give a student a basic knowledge of hardware and software configurations. Includes the installation of various peripheral devices as well as basic system hardware components.

Covers basic instruction in various network protocols, name resolution services, remote access, security, and print installation, configuration, administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of Server Administration software(Specify Version) in an Active Directory domain environment.

ITN 112 - Network Infrastructure (Specify Version)
Provides extensive instruction for the technical knowledge required for installation, configuration, administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of Network Infrastructure services (Specify Version) such as NDS, DHCP, WINS, RRAS, NAT, and Certificate Authority to support the network infrastructure.

Consists of instruction in installation, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting of Windows XP Professional as a desktop operating system in a networked data communication environment.

Consists of instruction that teaches students how to manage and maintain a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 environment.

Provides instruction on how to implement, manage, and maintain a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 network infrastructure.

ITN 154 - Networking Fundamentals - Cisco
Provides introduction to networking using the OSI reference model. Includes data encapsulation, TCP/IP suite, routing, IP addressing, and structured cabling design and implementation.

ITN 155 - Introductory Routing - Cisco
Features an introduction to basic router configuration using Cisco IOS software. Includes sytem components, interface configuration, ip network design, troubleshooting techniques, configuration and verification of IP addresses, and router protocols.

ITN 156 - Basic Switching and Routing - Cisco
Centers instruction in LAN segmentation using bridges, routers, and switches. Includes fast Ethernet, access lists, routing protocols, spanning tree protocol, virtual LANS and network management.

ITN 157 - WAN Technologies - Cisco
Concentrates on an introduction to Wide Area Networking (WANs). Includes WAN design, LAPB, Frame Relay, ISDN, HDLC, and PPP.

Provides an introduction to UNIX operating systems. Teaches login procedures, file creation, UNIX file structure, input/output control, and the UNIX shell.

Supervises in on-the-job training for pay in approved business, industrial and service firms, coordinated by the college's cooperative education office. Is applicable to all occupational- technical curricula at the discretion of the college.
Credit/work ratio not to exceed 1:5 hours. May be repeated for credit. Variable hours.

ITN 200 - Administration of Network Resources
Focuses on the management of local area network servers. Teaches proper structuring of security systems. Exxplains print queues, disk management, and other local area network (LAN) issues. Presents concerns and issues for the purchase and installation of hardware and software upgrades. Can be taught using any network operating system or a range of operating systems as a delivery tool.

ITN 260 - Network Security Basics
Provides instruction in the basics of network security in depth. Includes security objectives, security architecture, security models and security layers; risk management, network security policy, and security training. Includes the give security keys, confidentiality integrity, availability, accountability and auditability.

ITN 280 - Wireless-Network System Engineering (W-NSE)
Centers instruction on how to design and implement Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN) and introduces them to wireless networking products. Covers learn radio frequency and spread spectrum fundamentals, network architecture, standards and regulations, hardware/software equipment, OSI Model Layers, wireless protocols, site surveys, WEP/WEP2, security features, antenna systems, wireless test equipment, security and personal communication systems.

Covers new content not covered in existing courses in the discipline. Allows instructor to explore content and instructional methods to assess the course's viability as a permanent offering.

Provides an opportunity to explore topical areas of interest to or needed by students.
May be used also for special honors courses. May be repeated for credit. Variable hours.
