Health Records Coding - HIM 253 at Virginia Western Community College

HIM 253 - Health Records Coding: Examines the development of coding classification systems. Introduces ICD-9-CM coding classification system, its format and conventions. Stresses basic coding steps and guidelines according to body systems. Provides actual coding exercises in relation to each system covered.

Lecture 3-4 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 6-7 hours per week.
