Advanced Coding and Reimbursement - HIM 254 at Virginia Western Community College

HIM 254 - Advanced Coding and Reimbursement: Stresses advanced coding skills through practical exercises using actual medical records. Introduces CPT-4 coding system and guidelines for out-patient/ambulatory surgery coding. Introduces prospective payment system and its integration with ICD-CM-9 coding.

Lecture 3-4 hours per week.
