Prerequisite: Ability to swim continuously for 500 yards for a minimum of 100 yeards each of crawl/freestyle, breaststroke, and sidestroke; submerge to a minimum of 7 feet, retrieve a 10 pound object and return it to the surface; tread water for 2 minutes using legs only; and be 15 years of age by the first class.
