Introduces principles of York centrifugal compressors, chill water piping systems, chill water balancing valves, hot gas valves, thermostatic control valves, electric motors, autxiliary oil pumps, jet oil pumps, chillers, condensers, and water regulating valves. Includes internal construction of speed increasing centrifugal refrigerant compressors and operation, maintenance and troubleshooting 125- and 150-ton centrifugal R-114 and R-236fa air coniditioning systems.
Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 2 hours. Total 4 hours per week.
