ART 152 - Theory and Practice of Ceramics II
Teaches basic hand processes of pottery as applicable to tableware, decorative, functional and non-functional form. Includes throwing, coiling, slab building, and press molding. Generates a fundamental understanding of the craft through physical manipulation of materials, consideration of design techniques and historical example. Provides opportunity to work on original design from the clay to firing or glazing. Part II of II.
Lecture 1 hour. Studio instruction 4 hours. Total 5 hours per week.
