Prepares the student for Virginia and National Registry Intermediate certification. Includes the theory and application of the following: neurology, endocrine, poison and overdose, behavioral, environmental, gastrointestinal, pediatrics, gynecology, obstetrics, neonatal pediatrics, and trauma. Reinforces the theory and application of prerequisite courses. (Conforms to the 1998 Department of Transportation Curriculum for EMT-Intermediate/Paramedics.) Prerequisite:
EMT 178.
Lecture 4-5 hours. Laboratory 2 hours. Total 6-7 hours per week.
