ESR 90 - Coordinated Internship
Supervises on-the-job training in selected business, industrial or service firms coordinated by the college.

Provides an opportunity to explore topical areas of interest to or needed by students.

Specializes in career orientation and training program without pay in selected businesses and industry, supervised and coordinated by the college.

Supervises in on-the-job training for pay in approved business, industrial and service firms, coordinated by the college's cooperative education office. Is applicable to all occupational- technical curricula at the discretion of the college.

Requires completion of a project or research report related to the student's occupational objectives and a study of approaches to the selection and pursuit of career opportunities in the field.

Assigns problems for independent study incorporating previous instruction and supervised by the instructor.

ESR 110 - Introduction to Television Servicing
Surveys the consumer electronics servicing business. Includes business and servicing aspects of consumer electronics.
Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 5 hours per week.

ESR 150 - Software Configuration and Diagnostics
Teaches use and configuration of personal computer operating systems and applications programs, with emphasis on solving software-induced problems. Includes use of system utilities and selected diagnostic software. Includes use of a programming language.
Lecture 2-3 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 5-6 hours per week.

ESR 158 - Electronic Circuits for Computers
Studies the basic circuit principles used in repair and troubleshooting of computer systems. Use of laboratory equipment is stressed.

ESR 170 - Audio Video Circuits
Provides an introduction to the fundamentals of audio and video devices. Involves the study of audio circuits including surround sound, Dolby digital, and encryption formats such as MP3 and WMA. Covers video devices such as web cameras, DVD recorders, and digital cameras.
Lecture 3 hours per week.

ESR 175 - New Technologies in Audio/Video Equipment
Provides an introduction to the principles required to understand the latest technologies in audio and video equipment. Involves the study of communication principles required to understand technologies such as Bluetooth. Covers advances in video devices such as DLP, Plasma, and LCD, high definition television receivers. Continually evolving content as technologies change. Prerequisite: ESR 170.
Lecture 3 hours per week.

ESR 180 - Personal Computer Networking
Studies widely-used net topologies and cabling methods, including the capabilities and limitations of each. Covers the use of hubs, routers, bridges and network operating systems. Includes network management and layout.
Lecture 2-3 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 5-6 hours per week.

ESR 236 - Certification/License Preparation
Provides a broad review of the materials relating to consumer electronics that may be encountered on certification exams.
