Provides historical perspective as well as current theory and practice regarding the delivery of leisure services to people with disabilities. Introduces competencies needed to design, implement and direct leisure experiences for people of all abilities. Strategies for identifying and removing physical and programmatic barriers are discussed. Examines disability legislation, universal design principles, assistive technology, adaption techniques and leadership skills. Prerequisite: Advanced standing.
Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 2 hours. Total 4 hours per week.
