- SCM 133 - ASL-to-English Interpretation I

Begins consecutively interpreting monologues from the student's second language to first language. Watch entire ASL monologue, process it, analyze it, then choose appropriate English to match the message. Eventually interpret the monologue into English. Put interpreting theory into practice in a lab environment. Conduct research in the field of interpretation. Develops team interpreting techniques. Interacts with consumers of ASL-English interpretation. Prerequisite:
SCM 205. Co-requisite:
SCM 134.
Lecture 2 hours. Laborator 3 hours. Total 5 hours per week.
