Introduces the study of the surgical process, including aspects of the operating room environment. Highlights preparing the patient for surgery, including transporting, positioning and special preparation procedures. Presents physical, psychological and spiritual needs of the patient including ethical and legal rights of the patient. Prerequisite: Admission into the program. Co-requisite:
BIO 141.
Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 3-6 hours. Total 5-8 hours per week.
