WEL 21 - Shielded Metal Arc Welding I
Presents the operation of AC and DC power sources. Teaches polarities, heats, and electrodes for use in joining various metal alloys by the arc welding process. Deals with running beads, butt and fillet welds in all positions, assessment of weld quality through visual inspection. Emphasizes safety procedures. Part I of II.
Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 3-12 hours. Total 5-14 hours per week.
