CST 100 - Principles of Public Speaking
Applies theory and principles of public address with an emphasis on preparation and on the extemporaneous method of delivery. The assignments in the course require college-level reading and analysis of scholarly studies and coherent communication through written reports, including the production of at least one APA/MLA-formatted individual writing assignment. This is a UCGS transfer course.
Lecture 3 hours. Total 3 hours per week.

NOVA Online courses are 100% online requiring students to have reliable access to a computer and internet service. Assignment due dates can be found in the syllabus. This is a fast-paced accelerated 2nd 7-week course. Requires attending a series of online classes, including an Orientation meeting in the first week. Students may choose to attend this type of class in-person on BRCCs campus or synchronously online via Zoom during the scheduled dates and times of the class. Students who attend synchronously via Zoom may need a webcam and microphone for video and audio capabilities. Faculty may choose dates where in-person instruction is required. Students may be required to take at least one proctored assessment, faculty will inform students of the proctored assessment requirements in the syllabus and class notes.
