HIM 254 - Advanced Coding and Reimbursement
Focuses on the applications and evaluation of advanced coding skills through practical exercises using actual healthcare data; while examining the components of DRGs, APCs and APGs and other prospective payment in the healthcare environment. Utilizes current coding standards in identifying payment methodologies, revenue cycle management and reimbursement.
Lecture 3-4 hours per week.

The fourth test is to be a mandatory testing center test for ID validation purposes.
"V" sections are offered online anytime and do not require attendance. However, there may be set due dates for assignments, tests, etc. You may need a webcam and microphone for audio and video capabilities. Students may be required to take at least one proctored assessment. The assessment may be given using one of BRCC?s remote proctoring services, such as Respondus Lockdown Browser and Video Monitoring and/or Zoom.
