Introduces the student to Relational Database and Relational Database theory. Includes planning, defining and using a database; table design, linking, and normalization; types of databases, database description and definition.

"V" sections are offered online anytime and do not require attendance. However, there may be set due dates for assignments, tests, etc. You may need a webcam and microphone for audio and video capabilities. Students may be required to take at least one proctored assessment. The assessment may be given using one of BRCCs remote proctoring services, such as Respondus Lockdown Browser and Video Monitoring and/or Zoom. Microsoft Access is required for this course - It is recommended you use a Windows-based operating system, however, if you plan to use your Mac, it is your responsibility to have a dual boot operating system. Students may choose to attend in-person on BRCC's campus or synchronously online via Zoom during the scheduled dates and times. Faculty will share attendance policies, but may choose some dates where in-person instruction or proctored assessments are required.

This course is part of a project called Follett ACCESS, in which all student tuition and fees are included in the cost of required course materials. The cost for the course materials for this class is $43.75. The electronic course materials will be available to students in Canvas when the course begins. Students will be billed for both tuition and required electronic course materials.
