Provides an opportunity to explore topical areas of interest to or needed by students.
May be used also for special honors courses. May be repeated for credit. Variable hours.

Assigns problems for independent study incorporating previous instruction and supervised by the instructor.

ARC 211 - Computer Aided Drafting Applications
Utilizes computer's hardware and software to create orthographic and pictorial drawings. Requires creation of working drawings by adding the necessary sections, dimensions, and notes to the computer generated views. Prerequisite ARC 210 or equivalent.
Lecture 1-2 hours. Laboratory 2-3 hours. Total 3-5 hours per week.

ARC 212 - Architectural Drafting III
Provides fundamental knowledge of the principles and techniques of architectural drawings, procedures. Familiarizes students with design process to provide a better understanding of the relationship between architectural design and structural systems. Prerequisite ARC 112 or equivalent.
Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 5 hours per week.

ARC 221 - Architectural CAD Applications Software I
Teaches the principles and techniques of architectural drawing practices through the use of architecture specific CAD software. Utilizes the commands and features of the software to generate drawings that emphasize architectural design and structural systems. Use local prerequisites.
Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 2 hours. Total 4 hours per week.

ARC 233 - Advanced Architectural Design & Drafting III
Introduces the procedures involved in architectural design and construction document processing. Requires preparation of set of working drawings for a residential design project.
Lecture 1 hour. Laboratory 4 hours. Total 5 hours per week.
