The Career Studies Certificate in Career Studies Certificate in Early Childhood Education-Preschool is part of the Child Care Provider/Assistant program at Eastern Shore Community College

The Early Childhood Career Studies Certificate in Preschool (CDA) prepares individuals to work in educational and childcare settings providing care and a developmentally appropriate education for children from birth to age twelve. The program includes a 40-hour supervised internship in an educational facility. Individuals who complete the program are eligible for teaching assistant positions in preschool and primary classrooms. The courses in this program may be used to earn an Associate of Applied Science degree in Early Childhood Education. This provides students multiple access and completion opportunities so they can more quickly enter the workforce and advance their knowledge and skills in the field of Early Childhood Education.

The Preschool Career Studies Certificate satisfies the requirements of the Head Start Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential.
