Provides an opportunity to explore various language elements in American Sign Language (ASL), including advanced and colloquial aspects of phonology, morphology, grammar/syntax, semantics, variation, and historical change.
Lecture 2-3 hours. Total 2-3 hours per week.

General Course Purpose

The purpose of this class is to serve as a vehicle of transition for students from the old ASL curriculum to the new ASL AAS program. This course (Sign Tuning) is to expand the ASL lexicon of these students, beginning ASL-English Interpretation students, and to provide an opportunity for students to improve ASL fluency in order to continue effectively in the ASL-English Interpretation AAS curriculum.
