- Uses a family-centered approach; studies normal and common complications in pregnancy, childbirth, post-partum, the neonate, and children through adolescence. Covers milestones in all aspects of growth and development and common childhood disorders at various ages.(4 Cr.) Lecture 4 hours per week.

- Applies principles and procedures essential to the basic nursing care of patients.Laboratory 3 hours per week.
1 credits - PNE 145 - Trends in Practical Nursing
- Studies the role of the Licensed Practical Nurse. Covers legal aspects, organizations, and opportunities in practical nursing. Assists students in preparation for employment.Lecture 1 hour per week.
1 credits - PNE 155 - Body Structure and Function
- Studies the structure and function of the body.Lecure 3-4 hours per week.
3-4 credits - PNE 158 - Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing
- Recognizes emotional needs of patients. Provides knowledge of the role that emotions play. Enables students to understand their own behavior as well as patient behavior.Lecture 1-2 hours per week.
1-2 credits - PNE 161 - Nursing in Health Changes I
- Focuses on nursing situations and procedures necessary to assist individuals in meeting special needs related to human functions.Lecture 2-4 hours. Laboratory 6-15 hours. Total 10-17 hours per week.
6-7 credits - PNE 162 - Nursing in Health Changes II
- Continues the focus on nursing situations and procedures necessary to assist individuals in meeting special needs related to human functions.Lecture 4-6 hours. Laboratory 12-21 hours. Total 18-25 hours per week.
10-11 credits - PNE 164 - Nursing in Health Changes IV
- Continues the focus on nursing situations and procedures necessary to assist individuals in meeting special needs related to human functions.Lecture 4-6 hours. Laboratory 12-21 hours. Total 18-25 hours per week.
10-11 credits - PNE 174 - Applied Pharmacology for Practical Nurses
- Applies problem solving skills in preparing and administering medications.Lecture 0-1 hour. Laboratory 3-6 hours. Total 3-6 hours per week.
1-2 credits - PNE 175 - Introduction to Supervision and Management for Prac Nur
- Presents principles of leadership and management theory to assist the practical nurse graduate in assuming leadership roles within their scope of practice. Provides an interactive format to enhance the learning concepts such as group dynamics, effective communication, organization, prioritization, and delegation. Emphasizes skills necessary for first-line management.Lecture 1 hour per week.

- Provides guided nursing experiences in the hospital setting. Practices skills and applies principles of nursing in basic areas. Includes supervision in administration of medicines. Encourages students to develop basic skills in analyzing patient needs and making nursing decisions. Part I of II.Laboratory 15-18 hours per week.
5 credits - PNE 182 - Clinical Experience II
