- Surveys general principles of physics. Includes topics such as force and motion, energy, heat, sound, light, electricity and magnetism, and modern physics. Part I of II.Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 6 hours per week.
4 credits - PHY 121 - Principles of Physics I
- Covers fundamental principles of physics. Includes mechanics, thermodynamics, wave phenomena, electricity and magnetism, and selected topics from modern physics. Prerequisites 2 units of high school algebra and one unit of high school geometry or equivalent. Part I of II.Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 6 hours per week.
4 credits - PHY 122 - Principles of Physics II
- Covers fundamental principles of physics. Includes mechanics, thermodynamics, wave phenomena, electricity and magnetism, and selected topics from modern physics. Prerequisites 2 units of high school algebra and one unit of high school geometry or equivalent. Part II of II.Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 6 hours per week.
4 credits - PHY 131 - Applied Physics I
- Emphasizes application of topics such as precision measurement, statics, dynamics, energy, momentum, properties of matter, heat, sound, optics, and electricity and magnetism. Prerequisites high school algebra, geometry and trigonometry, or equivalent or divisional approval. Part I of II.Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 2 hours. Total 4 hours per week.

- Teaches fundamental principles of physics. Covers mechanics, thermodynamics, wave phenomena, electricity and magnetism, and selected topics in modern physics. Part I of II.Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 6 hours per week.

- Teaches fundamental principles of physics. Covers mechanics, thermodynamics, wave phenomena, electricity and magnetism, and selected topics in modern physics. Prerequisite: MTH 163. Part II of II.Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 6 hours per week.

- Teaches principles of classical and modern physics. Includes mechanics, wave phenomena, heat, electricity, magnetism, relativity, and nuclear physics. Prerequisite for PHY 241--MTH 173 or MTH 273 or divisional approval. Prerequisite for PHY 242--MTH 174 or MTH 274 or divisional approval. Part I of II.Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 6 hours per week.

- Teaches principles of classical and modern physics. Includes mechanics, wave phenomena, heat, electricity, magnetism, relativity, and nuclear physics. Prerequisite for PHY 241--MTH 173 or MTH 273 or divisional approval. Prerequisite for PHY 242--MTH 174 or MTH 274 or divisional approval. Part II of II.Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory 3 hours.
