ITN 100 - Introduction to Telecommunications
Surveys data transmission systems, communication lines, data sets, network, modes of transmission, protocols, and interfacing. Emphasizes network structure and operation.

ITN 101 - Introduction to Network Concepts
Provides instruction in networking media, physical and logical topologies, common networking standards and popular networking protocols. Emphasizes the TCP/IP protocol suite and related IP addressing schemes, including CIDR. Includes selected topics in network implementation, support and LAN/WAN connectivity.
Lecture 3-4 hours per week.

ITN 103 - Administration of Networked Servers
Instruction focuses on the installation, configuration, and management of local area networked servers. Topics covered include support for local area networked devices, system services, and deployment of networked operating systems. This course can include any version of Windows or Linux Server Platforms.
Lecture 2-3 hours. Laboratory 2 hours. Total 4-5 hours per week.

ITN 106 - Microcomputer Operating Systems
Teaches use of operating system utilities and multiple-level directory structures, creation of batch files, and configuration of microcomputer environments. May include a study of graphical user interfaces.

ITN 107 - Personal Computer Hardware and Troubleshooting
Includes specially designed instruction to give a student a basic knowledge of hardware and software configurations. Includes the installation of various peripheral devices as well as basic system hardware components.

Provides a basic comprehension of Internet and network technologies including IT job roles, connection methods, TCP/IP functionality and DNS. Explores web server technologies with security and project management concepts. Introduces network creation, physical and logical topologies including media properties, server types, IP addressing and network security.

Covers installation, configuration, administration, management, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the desktop client operating system in a networked environment.

ITN 124 - Wireless-Network Administration (WNA)
Incorporates instruction in the fundamentals of radio frequency and spread spectrum technology and wireless networking systems implementation and design. Includes radio frequency and spread spectrum concepts, 802.11 standards and regulations, wireless network architecture, topology, software, equipment, OSI Model, site surveys, security features, and the design and implementation of wireless network solutions.

ITN 150 - Networking Fundamentals and Introductory Routing-Cisco
Contains an introduction to the functions of layer of the OSI reference model, data link and network addresses, data encapsulation, different classes of IP addresses and subletting, and the functions of the TCP/IP network-layer protocols. Includes features of the Cisco IOS software, including login, content-sensitive help, command history and editing, loading software, configuring and verifying IP addresses, preparing the initial configuration of a router, and adding routing protocols to the router configuration.

ITN 155 - Switching, Routing and Wireless Essentials - Cisco
Provides the skills and knowledge to install, operate, and troubleshoot routers and switches in small networks. Introduces students to wireless local area networks (WLANS) and network security concepts.

ITN 156 - Enterprise Networking, Security, and Automation - Cisco
Teaches students to configure, troubleshoot, and secure enterprise networks. Introduces students to virtualization, application programming interfaces (APIs) and the configuration management tools that make network automation possible.

Provides instruction in the basics of network security in depth. Includes security objectives, security architecture, security models and security layers; risk management, network security policy, and security training. Includes the five security keys, confidentiality integrity, availability, accountability and auditability.

Encompasses in-depth exploration of various methods for attacking and defending a network. Explores network security concepts from the viewpoint hackers and their attack methodologies. Includes topics about hackers, attacks, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) malicious code, computer crime and industrial espionage.

ITN 262 - Network Communication, Security and Authentication
Covers an in-depth exploration of various communication protocols with a concentration on TCP/IP. Explores communication protocols from the point of view of the hacker in order to highlight protocol weaknesses. Includes Internet architecture, routing, addressing, topology, fragmentation and protocol analysis, and the use of various utilities to explore TCP/IP.

ITN 263 - Internet/Intranet Firewalls and E-Commerce Security
Gives an in-depth exploration of firewall, Web security, and e-commerce security. Explores firewall concepts, types, topology and the firewall's relationship to the TCP/IP protocol. Includes client/server architecture, the Web server, HTML and HTTP in relation to Web Security, and digital certification, D.509, and public key infrastructure (PKI).

ITN 266 - Network Security Layers
Provides an in-depth exploration of various security layers needed to protect the network. Explores Network Security from the viewpoint of the environment in which the network operates and the necessity to secure that environment to lower the security risk to the network. Includes physical security, personnel security, operating system security, software security and database security.

ITN 267 - Legal Topics in Network Security
Conveys an in-depth exploration of the civil and common law issues that apply to network security. Explores statutes, jurisdictional, and constitutional issues related to computer crimes and privacy. Includes rules of evidence, seizure and evidence handling, court presentation and computer privacy in the digital age.

ITN 276 - Computer Forensics I
Teaches computer forensic investigation techniques for collecting computer-related evidence at the physical layer from a variety of digital media (hard drives, compact flash and PDAs) and performing analysis at the file system layer. Credit will be given to ITN 275 or ITN 276 and ITN 277, but not all three courses.
Lecture 3-4 hours per week.
Prerequisite: ITN 106, ITN 107. Co-requisite: ITN 260.
