- Teaches principles of classical physics. Includes mechanics, wave phenomena, heat, electricity, magnetism, and optics, with extended coverage of selected topics. Includes recitation as part of the lecture. Prerequisite: MTH 173 (for PHY 231) and MTH 174 and PHY 231 (for PHY 232). Part I of II.Lecture 4 hours. Laboratory 2 hours. Total 6 hours per week.
5 credits - PHY 232 - General University Physics I-II
- Teaches principles of classical physics. Includes mechanics, wave phenomena, heat, electricity, magnetism, and optics, with extended coverage of selected topics. Includes recitation as part of the lecture. Prerequisite: MTH 173 (for PHY 231) and MTH 174 and PHY 231 (for PHY 232). Part II of II.Lecture 4 hours. Laboratory 2 hours. Total 6 hours per week.
5 credits - PHY 241 - University Physics I
- Teaches principles of classical and modern physics. Includes mechanics, wave phenomena, heat, electricity, magnetism, relativity, and nuclear physics. Prerequisite for PHY 241--MTH 173 or MTH 273 or divisional approval. Prerequisite for PHY 242--MTH 174 or MTH 274 or divisional approval. Part I of II.Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 6 hours per week.

- Teaches principles of classical and modern physics. Includes mechanics, wave phenomena, heat, electricity, magnetism, relativity, and nuclear physics.
