The associate of arts and sciences in education major -- teacher education preparation specialization requires courses that are usually required in the first two years of a four year degree. Courses focus on those needed to become a teacher. Each student is urged to learn which courses their transfer school prefers. Students should also speak with an advisor at that school. Students in the AA&S degree, with the help of an SVCC advisor, plan their programs to meet their transfer needs.
