Teaches use of instrumentation to make basic plane surveying measurements for horizontal, vertical, and angular measurement, and includes construction survey and layout. Focuses on the use of pacing techniques, steel tape, level, and total stations.
Laboratory 3 hour. Total 3 hours per week.

General Course Purpose
The proposed is a laboratory course to apply concepts learned in the proposed Geomatics course.
Course Objectives
- Demonstrate appropriate surveying procedures, and read and record surveying field notes.
- Setup, level, and operate the following surveying equipment: steel tape, level, transit, and total station.

- Horizontal distance measurement using pacing, steel tape and total station
- Vertical distance measurement using automatic level
