Provides the opportunity to use instrumentation to conduct topographic, layout, curve, profile, property, boundary, and control surveys. Focuses on the use of level, total station, and GPS units.
Laboratory 3 hours. Total 3 hours per week.

General Course Purpose
Provides the opportunity to use instrumentation to conduct topographic, layout, curve, profile, property, boundary, and control surveys. Focuses on the use of level, total station, and GPS units.
Course Objectives
- Demonstrate appropriate surveying procedures, and read and record surveying field notes.
- Setup, level, and operate the following surveying equipment: steel tape, level, transit, total station, GPS receivers.
- Conduct topographic survey, property survey and route layout survey.
- Establish point position using GPS equipment.
