NSG 116 - Concepts for Health Professions Transition
Facilitates role transition for the Paramedic or Respiratory Therapist to Registered Nurse. Incorporates concepts of nursing practice and conceptual learning focusing on basic nursing concepts with an emphasis on safe nursing practice. Includes the development of the nursing process. Emphasizes the use of clinical judgement in skill acquisition. Provides supervised learning experiences in college nursing laboratories, clinical/community settings, and/or simulated environments.
Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 6 hours. Total 8 hours per week.
Prerequisites: BIO 141 and acceptance into the AAS Nursing Program - Paramedic/Registered Respiratory Therapist to RN. Corequisites: BIO 142, NSG 130 and NSG 200.
