Introduces the student to the organization and management of a fire department and the relationship of government agencies to the fire service. Emphasis on fire service leadership from the perspective of the company officer.

This section is a Distance Learning course taught using Canvas via the Internet. Students must have regular access to a computer and the Internet to successfully complete this course. Some courses require proctored testing. Students can come to one of Thomas Nelson's campuses or another approved site, such as an educational institution or armed services location, or, for certain courses, they can purchase remote proctoring through the TNCC bookstore. The syllabus for each class will state whether proctored testing is required for the class, and whether the proctoring must be done in person. Students should consult with the professor on the requirements for proctoring. Students enrolled in distance learning courses are encouraged to attend a distance learning orientation session.
