MUS 145 - Applied Music - Keyboard
Teaches piano, organ, harpsichord, or synthesizer. Studies the standard repertoire. Private lessons are available for either 1 or 2 hours of credit per semester. The length of the lessons will be 1/2 hour for 1 hour credit and 1 hour for 2 hours credit per semester. All courses in applied music may be repeated for a total of 8 hours for the major and 4 hours for the minor. 1-2 half-hour lessons per week, 4-8 hours practice (laboratory) required.

This section is a 1 credit class. Applied classes are private lessons held once a week (30 minutes for a 1-credit class). Please email the instructor DruryD@tncc.edu and cc PerformingArts@tncc.edu for scheduling information concerning this class. All courses in applied music may be repeated for a total of 8 hours for the major and 4 hours for the minor. One half-hour lesson per week. Four to eight hours practice required. The student will be charged a fee of $200 for a 1-credit class and $400.00 for a 2-credit class.
This a ***HYBRID Online/Face-to-Face*** section. The ability of the College to offer hybrid courses will be contingent upon COVID-19 regulations and guidance in effect at the time the course is offered. If the college can offer in-person sessions, this hybrid course will require the student come to campus for part of the instruction time. If in-person instruction is feasible, these sessions will be conducted in small groups, meeting CDC, VDH, and any other official guidelines for COVID-19 safety. Students must have regular access to a computer and the Internet to successfully complete this course. Some courses require proctored testing.
