Offers instruction for students in current topics of care for trauma patients and offers certification as a International Trauma Life Support Provider (ITLS) as defined by the American College of Emergency Physicians.
Lecture 1 hour per week, 1 Contact hour.

General Course Purpose
Educate the EMS provider in special considerations for injured patients.
Course Prerequisites/Corequisites
Current Emergency Medical Technician (EMT, EMT-E, EMT-I, EMT-P) certification/ licensure ,or other associated healthcare field.
Course Objectives
- To prepare the EMS provider for a International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) certification.
- Offers an overview of special needs associated with emergencies in trauma patients.

- Trauma issues that affect patients and their care.
