Provides academic support for successful completion of ENG 111. Students will identify and apply academic skills including critical reading, writing, thinking, and introductory research.

Corequisite: ENG 111

Course Objectives

  • Identify and implement critical processes - in reading, writing, thinking, and research as defined in EDE 11 and ENG 111.
  • Critical Reading - identify basic rhetorical knowledge and use active reading strategies alongside ENG 111.
  • Critical Writing and Conventions - compose and apply the writing process and conventions
  • Critical Thinking - show critical thinking skills about various texts from EDE 11 and ENG 111
  • Critical Research - demonstrate effective research processes for EDE 11 and ENG 111.
