- CHM 1 - Chemistry
- Presents basic inorganic and organic principles to students with little or no chemistry background. Can be taken in subsequent semesters as necessary until course objectives are completed.Lecture 1-4 hours. Laboratory 0-3 hours. Total 1-7 hours per week.
1-5 credits - CHM 5 - Developmental Chemistry for Health Sciences
- Introduces basic principles of inorganic, organic, and biological chemistry. Emphasizes applications to the health sciences. Laboratory is optional.Lecture 1-4 hours. Laboratory 0-3 hours. Total 1-7 hours per week.
1-5 credits - CHM 98 - Seminar and Project
- Requires completion of a project or research report related to the student's occupational objectives and a study of approaches to the selection and pursuit of career opportunities in the field.May be repeated for credit. Variable hours.
1-5 credits - CHM 101 - Introductory Chemistry
- Explores the experimental and theoretical concepts of general chemistry while emphasizing scientific reasoning, critical and analytical thinking. Designed for the non-science major. This is a Passport and UCGS transfer course.Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 6 hours per week.
4 credits - CHM 110 - Survey of Chemistry
- Introduces the basic concepts of general, organic, and biochemistry with emphasis on their applications to other disciplines. No previous chemistry background required.Lecture 3 hours per week.
3 credits - CHM 111 - General Chemistry I
- Explores the fundamental laws, theories, and mathematical concepts of chemistry. Designed primarily for science and engineering majors. Requires a strong background in mathematics. Students must earn a grade of C or higher in the lecture portion of the course to earn an overall grade of C or higher. Part I of II. This is a Passport and UCGS transfer course.Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 6 hours per week.

- Introduces the basic concepts of general, organic, and biological chemistry necessary for practicing nurses.Lecture 3 hours per week.
3 credits - CHM 195 - Topics In
- Provides an opportunity to explore topical areas of interest to or needed by students.May be used also for special honors courses. May be repeated for credit. Variable hours.
1-5 credits - CHM 196 - On-Site Training
- Specializes in career orientation and training program without pay in selected businesses and industry, supervised and coordinated by the college.Credit/work ratio not to exceed 1:5 hours. May be repeated for credit. Variable hours.

- Assigns problems for independent study incorporating previous instruction and supervised by the instructor.May be repeated for credit. Variable hours.

- Introduces fundamental chemistry of carbon compounds, including structures, physical properties, syntheses, and typical reactions. Emphasizes reaction mechanisms. Part I of IILecture 3 hours. Total 3 hours per week.
Prerequisites: CHM 112 with a grade of C or higher3 credits - CHM 242 - Organic Chemistry II
- Introduces fundamental chemistry of carbon compounds, including structures, physical properties, syntheses, and typical reactions. Emphasizes reaction mechanisms. Part II of II.Lecture 3 hours. Total 3 hours per week.
Prerequisite(s): CHM 241 with grade of C or higher and corequisite of CHM 246.3 credits - CHM 245 - Organic Chemistry I Laboratory
- Introduces various methods and procedures used in present day organic laboratories. Covers the general techniques, organic synthesis, and the use of common spectroscopic instrumentation; synthesizing a variety of compounds; and analyzing the products through physical properties and spectroscopy. Part I of II.Lecture 1 hour. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 4 hours per week.
Prerequisite: CHM 112 with a grade of C or better; Corequisite: CHM 241.2 credits - CHM 246 - Organic Chemistry II Laboratory
- Introduces various methods and procedures used in present day organic laboratories. Covers the general techniques, organic synthesis, and the use of common spectroscopic instrumentation; synthesizing a variety of compounds; and analyzing the products through physical properties and spectroscopy. Part II of II.Lecture 1 hour. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 4 hours per week.
Prerequisite: CHM 245; Corequisite: CHM 242.2 credits - CHM 260 - Introductory Biochemistry
- Explores fundamentals of biological chemistry. Includes study of macromolecules, metabolic pathways, and biochemical genetics.Lecture 3 hours per week.
Prerequisite: CHM 112 or divisional approval.3 credits - CHM 261 - Biochemistry Lab
- Provides hands on lab experiences designed to reinforce the fundamentals of biological chemistry taught in CHM 260 such as biochemistry assays, enzyme kinetics, enzyme purification, chromatography, electrophoresis and use of western blots.Laboratory 3 hours per week.
