- RTH 110 - Fund. Theory and Procedures for Respiratory Care
- Focuses on the development of basic respiratory care skills necessary to enter the hospital environment.Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 3-6 hours. Total 5-8 hours per week. 3-4 Credits
This is a first semester course that requires acceptance into the Respiratory Therapy program.3-4 credits - RTH 111 - Anatomy & Physiology of the Cardiopulmonary System
- Concentrates on anatomy and physiology of the cardio- pulmonary system.Lecture 3 hours per week.
3 credits - RTH 112 - Pathology of the Cardiopulmonary System
- Presents pathophysiology of medical and surgical diseases with emphasis upon diseases of cardiopulmonary system.Lecture 3 hours per week.
3 credits - RTH 121 - Cardiopulmonary Science I
- Focuses on pathophysiology, assessment, treatment, and evaluation of patients with cardiopulmonary disease. Explores cardiopulmonary and neuromuscular physiology and patho- physiology.Lecture 3 hours per week.
3 credits - RTH 132 - Respiratory Care Theory and Procedures II
- Presents theory of equipment and procedures and related concepts used for patients requiring general, acute and critical cardiopulmonary care. Part II of II.Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 6 hours per week.
4 credits - RTH 145 - Pharmacology for Respiratory Care I
- Presents selection criteria for the use of, and detailed information on pharmacologic agents used in pulmonary care.Lecture 1-2 hours per week.
1-2 credits - RTH 151 - Fundamental Clinical Procedures I
- Offers clinical instruction in basic patient care practices.Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 3-6 hours. Total 5-8 hours per week.
3-4 credits - RTH 152 - Fundamental Clinical Procedures II
- Offers clinical instruction in basic patient care practices.Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 3-6 hours. Total 5-8 hours per week.
3-4 credits - RTH 215 - Pulmonary Rehabilitation
- Focuses on purpose and implementation of comprehensive pulmonary rehabilitation program.Lecture 1 hour per week.
1 credits - RTH 222 - Cardiopulmonary Science II
- Focuses on assessment, treatment, and evaluation of patients with cardiopulmonary disease. Explores cardiopulmonary, renal, and neuromuscular physiology, and pathophysiology.Lecture 3 hours per week.
3 credits - RTH 225 - Neonatal and Pediatric Respiratory Procedures
- Focuses on the cardiopulmonary, physiology, pathology and application of therapeutic procedures in the management of the newborn and pediatric patient.Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 5 hours per week.
3 credits - RTH 245 - Pharmacology for Respiratory Care II
- Concentrates on pharmacologic agents used in the management of the critically ill patient.Lecture 2 hours per week.
2 credits - RTH 253 - Advanced Clinical Procedures III
