TRK 101 - DOT Safety Rules and Regulations
Includes an intensive study of the Department of Transportation and state and local laws and regulations governing the motor carrier industry as applied to the professional operation of commercial vehicles.
Lecture 2 hours per week.

TRK 102 - Preventive Maintenance for Truck Drivers
Focuses on the fundamentals of preventive maintenance and inspection procedures for gasoline and diesel powered tractor-trailers. Includes drivelines, brake systems, electrical system and accessories encountered by the professional truck driver.
Lecture 1 hour per week.

TRK 103 - Tractor Trailer Driving
Prepares the prospective driver to operate a motor vehicle in a safe and responsible manner. Provides practical training in over-the-road and city driving, including backing skills, and pre-trip inspection. Emphasizes defensive driving.
Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory 12 hours. Total 15 hours per week.

Provides an opportunity to explore topical areas of interest to or needed by students.
May be used also for special honors courses. May be repeated for credit. Variable hours.
