EDU 200 - Foundations of Education
Explores the foundational topics related to education. Emphasizes the historical, philosophical, social, legal, ethical, and professional aspects of teaching. This course requires a practicum with a minimum of 20 hours of observation in a K-12 setting.

15-week Online course offered by NOVA Online. NOVA Online courses are 100% online requiring students to have reliable access to a computer and internet service. This class has no scheduled meeting times. Due dates can be found in the syllabus. Students will complete a 20-hour field placement in a public school during normal school hours. Students must be able to pass a background check to receive a field placement. For additional information, students should contact our Field Placement Coordinator, Mrs. Stephanie Maldonado. Smaldonado@nvcc.edu. EDU 200 is accepted as the Foundations course for licensure by the state of Virginia. Starts August 26. Ends December 17.
