AMT 160 - Independent Rotax Maintenance Technician (iRMT) 912 Series Maintenance

Course Description

Effective: 2017-01-01

Delivers line maintenance and heavy maintenance content. Includes researching and identifying detailed maintenance issues, implementing tips and tricks, troubleshooting and removing and replacing the following in an aircraft piston engine: cylinder heads, cylinders and pistons, intake/exhaust system, carburetors, ignition system, gearbox, starter, and oil pump. Covers testing the run of an engine including hands-on troubleshooting.
Lecture 1 hour. Total 1 hours per week.

General Course Purpose

To prepare student with advanced proficiency and pre-requisite experience required to perform line maintenance up to troubleshooting, carburetor removal and inspection and an annual 200-hour condition inspection on Rotax 912 Series engines.
