ARO 130 - Preventative Maintenance for Pilots

Course Description

Introduces the mechanics of the airplane, its powerplant and systems to enable the student to evaluate malfunctions and make maintenance decisions. Covers critical factors that inform purchase of aircraft. Provides the knowledge and skills required for airplane preventative maintenance.
Lecture 2 hours, Laboratory 2 hours. Total 4 hours per week.

General Course Purpose

To prepare student with basic proficiency and stills to conduct preventative maintenance in accordance with Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 43, Appendix A, Paragraph c. This course will be useful for individuals who are interested in the purchase of an aircraft or those interested in learning how to properly perform aircraft preventative maintenance.

Course Prerequisites/Corequisites

Prerequisite: Federal Aviation Pilot Certificate or Higher or Program Head approval.
