ART 116 - Design for the Web I

Course Description

Effective: 2012-05-01

Introduces the basic elements of web page design: typography, imagery, and color, and examines how they are combined to create effective layouts. Teaches organization of materials, sketching and concept development, site planning and various methods of construction.
Credits - 3. Lecture 2 hours. Studio Instruction - 2 hours. Total Contact - 4 hours per week.

General Course Purpose

Focus on theories and concepts of design as it pertains to the development of web pages. Teach graphic skills and techniques necessary to create a web page. Recommended for students interested in web design. Course fits with the foundations and principles addressed in other courses.
