ART 148 - Garment Construction

Course Description

Effective: 2011-08-01

Gives students a foundational understanding of garment construction and fabric manipulation in order to create apparel. Includes the fundamentals of hand and machine sewing techniques and basic pattern symbols.
Lecture 2 hours. Lab 2 hours. Total 4 hours per week.

General Course Purpose

This course provides students with essential skills and knowledge of tools and techniques in garment construction required to be successful in the fields of fashion design and theatrical costuming.
