CST 256 - Costume Design

Course Description

Introduces students to the basics of theatrical costume design including script analysis, theory, research, visual creation and presentation, use of construction techniques in design consideration, budgeting, collaboration and the importance of historical periods in art and fashion.
Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 2 hours. Total 4 hours per week.

General Course Purpose

For transfer into four-year theatre programs which include courses in theatre as part of their curriculum, and to prepare students for employment in theatre and costuming.
