Studies principles of management of disease producing microorganisms and associated diseases. Emphasizes sterilization, asepsis, and disinfection techniques applicable in the dental office.
Lecture 1-2 hours. Laboratory 2-3 hours. Total 3-5 hours per week.

General Course Purpose

Emphasizes to the student the importance of safety concerning infection control, blood borne pathogens, disease transmission, and chemical hazards.
