- Introduces technical drafting from the fundamentals through advanced drafting practices. Teaches lettering, metric construction, technical sketching, orthographic projection, sections, intersections, development, fasteners, theory and applications of dimensioning and tolerances. Includes pictorial drawing, and preparation of working and detailed drawings. Part I of II.Lecture 1-2 hours. Laboratory 2-6 hours. Total 3-7 hours per week.

2-3 credits - DRF 127 - Introduction to Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
- Presents an overview of a positional tolerance system, its relationship to coordinate tolerance systems, and other aspects of industry standard drafting practices.Lecture 1 hours per week.

2-3 credits - DRF 130 - Introduction to Electrical/Electronics Drafting
- Teaches applications of drafting procedures with emphasis on working and functional drawings and direct applications to electrical and electronic components and circuits.Lecture 1 hour. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 4 hours per week.
2 credits - DRF 135 - Electrical/Electronics Blueprint Reading
- Presents an interpretation of basic shop drawings, conventional symbols, terminology, and principles used by the mechanical draftsman. Explains common electrical and electronic symbols, wiring diagrams, schematic drawing, and application of wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and application of wiring diagrams.Lecture 2 hours per week.
2 credits - DRF 140 - Technical Drawing
- Enhances the principles learned that are related directly to the field of drafting and design. Gives a more in-depth exposure to detail and working drawings, dimensioning, tolerancing and conventional drafting practices. Teaches CAD modeling, may include parametric modeling.Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 2 hours. Total 4 hours per week.
3 credits - DRF 151 - Engineering Drawing Fundamentals I
- Introduces technical drafting from the fundamentals through advanced drafting practices. - Introduces fundamentals of architectural drafting and planning of functional buildings. Presents architectural lettering, symbols, and dimensioning, and working drawings including site plans, floor plans, elevations, sections, and details.Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 5 hours per week.
3 credits - DRF 160 - Machine Blueprint Reading
- Introduces interpreting of various blueprints and working drawings. Applies basic principles and techniques such as visualization of an object, orthographic projection, technical sketching and drafting terminology. Requires outside preparation.Lecture 3 hours per week.
3 credits - DRF 161 - Blueprint Reading I
- Teaches the application of basic principles, visualization, orthographic projection, detail of drafting shop processes and terminology, assembly drawings and exploded views. Considers dimensioning, changes and corrections, classes of fits, tolerances and allowances, sections and convention in blueprint reading.Lecture 0-1 hours. Laboratory 0-3 hours. Total 1-4 hours per week.
1-2 credits - DRF 162 - Blueprint Reading II
- Emphasizes industrial prints, auxiliary views, pictorial drawings, simplified drafting procedures, production drawing, operation sheets, tool drawing, assembly drawings, and detailed prints.Lecture 1 hour. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 4 hours per week.
2 credits - DRF 165 - Architectural Blueprint Reading
- Emphasizes reading, understanding and interpreting standard types of architectural drawings including plans, elevation, sections and details.Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 2 hours. Total 4 hours per week.
3 credits - DRF 166 - Welding Blueprint Reading
- Teaches welding nomenclature and applications. Stresses structural steel, design, layout. Explains industrial symbols.Lecture 1 hour. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 4 hours per week.
2 credits - DRF 169 - Blueprint Reading for Heavy Construction
- Presents material for draftsmen, material estimators, construction workers, superintendents, and others involved in heavy construction. Includes site layout, foundations, reinforced concrete and steel construction, interior finishing and mechanical/electrical systems.Lecture 1 hour. Laboratory 2 hours. Total 3 hours per week.
2 credits - DRF 175 - Schematics and Mechanical Diagrams
- Covers interpretation of basic shop drawings, conventional symbols, common electrical and electronics symbols, wiring diagrams, hydraulic and pneumatic symbols, schematic drawings, and piping diagrams.Lecture 2 hours per week.

- Teaches concepts of sheet metal fabrication including radii, fillets and tolerances, electrical and electronics symbols and drawing, and advanced design drafting techniques.Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 2-3 hours. Total 4-5 hours per week.
3 credits - DRF 225 - Machine Drawing and Design
- Teaches design of basic machine elements and the analysis of linear and geometric tolerancing including the preparation of complete design and production drawings.Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 5 hours per week.
3 credits - DRF 226 - Computer Aided Machining
- Teaches use of software to create numerical machine code to drive CNC milling machines or lathes. Introduces software and techniques to create, edit and produce CAD drawings, tool paths, and the numerical code for a CAM machine. Includes history, applications, hardware and software requirements, terminology, limitation and future trends.Lecture 2-3 hours. Laboratory 2 hours. Total 4-5 hours per week.
3-4 credits - DRF 231 - Computer Aided Drafting I
- Teaches computer aided drafting concepts and equipment designed to develop a general understanding of components and operate a typical CAD system.Lecture 1-2 hours. Laboratory 2-3 hours. Total 3-5 hours per week.
2-3 credits - DRF 232 - Computer Aided Drafting II
- Teaches advanced operation in computer aided drafting.Lecture 1-2 hours. Laboratory 2-3 hours. Total 3-5 hours per week.
2-3 credits - DRF 233 - Computer Aided Drafting III
- Exposes student to 3-D and modeling. Focuses on proficiency in Production drawing using a CAD system.Lecture 1-2 hours. Laboratory 2-3 hours. Total 3-5 hours per week.
2-3 credits - DRF 237 - CADD Systems Management
- Studies the principles and practices of CADD database use, design and programming for a CADD environment. Topics include: attributes manipulation and revision; CADD database extraction and management; basic techniques of data conversion and communication protocol between CADD systems.Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 2-3 hours. Total 4- 5 hours per week.
3 credits - DRF 238 - Computer Aided Modeling and Rendering I
- Focuses on training students in the contemporary techniques of 3D modeling, rendering, and animation on the personal computer. Introduces the principles of visualization, sometimes known as photo-realism, which enables the student to create presentation drawings for both architectural and industrial product design. Uses computer animation to produce walk-throughs that will bring the third dimension to architectural designs. Part I of II.Lecture 1-2 hours. Laboratory 1-2 hours. Total 2-4 hours per week.
2-3 credits - DRF 239 - Computer Aided Modeling and Rendering II
- Focuses on training students in the contemporary techniques of 3D modeling, rendering, and animation on the personal computer. Introduces the principles of visualization, sometimes known as photo-realism, which enables the student to create presentation drawings for both architectural and industrial product design. 2-3 credits - DRF 241 - Parametric Solid Modeling I-II
- Focuses on teaching students the design of parts by parametric solid modeling. Topics covered will include, but not limited to, sketch profiles; geometric and dimensional constraints; 3-D features; model generation by extrusion, revolution and sweep; and the creation of 2-D drawing views that include sections, details and auxiliary. Part I of II.Lecture 2-3 hours. Laboratory 2-3 hours. Total 4-6 hours per week.
3-4 credits - DRF 260 - Computer Applications for Surveyors and Technicians
- Studies and evaluates numerous COGO software and their associated drafting packages. Includes calculations and drafting of traverse adjustment, subdivision, and curves.Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 2 hours. Total 4 hours per week.
3 credits - DRF 262 - Computer-Aided-Civil Design and Hydrology
- Introduces computer-aided-design for civil/surveying as applied to highway design, site layout, advanced, highway design, hydrology tools, watershed analysis, and pipe sizing.Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 2 hours. Total 4 hours per week.
3 credits - DRF 280 - Design Capstone Project
- Focuses on design projects developed in independently and in consultation with the Instructor. Topics covered but not limited t, parametric modeling, civil, mechanical piping, architectural applications, structural, electro-mechanical, 3-D Solids, exploration of application software and the integration of CAD/CAM. Prerequisites: DRF 211 or 212 and DRF 201 or 199.Lecture 2-3 hours per week.
