Provides an in depth analysis of the electronic health record (EHR). Explores the features of EHRs as they relate to practical deployment in the health care setting.
Credits 3 hours. Lecture 2 hours per week. Laboratory 3 hours per week. Total 5 hours per week.

General Course Purpose

The general purpose of this course is to provide an understanding of the core functions of the EHR, basic methods of capturing and recording EHR data, and the various ways health information flows into the electronic health record.
