HIT 235 - Emerging Technologies in Health-IT

Provides an overview of various emerging technologies. Explores how health care technologies are used to treat patients, promote safety, and improve patient care. Discusses legal issues created by implementation of the electronic health record.
Credits 3 hours. Lecture 2 hours per week. Laboratory 3 hours per week. Total 5 hours per week.

The general purpose of this course is to provide students with an overview of emerging technologies and how these technologies are used in various branches of medicine; and as informational resources in healthcare.
