IND 138 - Industrial Leadership and Career Development

Course Description

Effective: 2015-08-01

Covers the importance of effective and ethical organizational behavior in career development. Provides students with guidance on how to be a high performance team member. Presents the tools necessary to manage and motivate team members in a manufacturing environment. Focuses on communication skills, professionalism, and ethics. Examines conflict resolution skills and the ability to identify behavioral types.
Lecture 1 hour, Total 1 hour per week.

General Course Purpose

This course is designed to teach students the behaviors expected of them upon entry into the organizational manufacturing world. Students will first learn how to be an effective high performance team member. This course also provides students the tools for the effective leadership, communication, and motivational skills necessary to lead groups in a manufacturing environment. The course will instruct students how to develop themselves, how to work well in high performance teams, and to how manage interpersonal and group dynamics. Students will also learn how to resolve conflict and manage change.
