MEC 208 - Materials Handling and Forklift Operation

Course Description

Effective: 2015-08-01

Provides guidance and hands-on experience in the use of jib, overhead cranes and the rigging involved for lifting/moving materials and working safely. Covers forklift training and safety issues for operating a forklift on the job site.
Lecture 1 hour, Laboratory 3 hours, Total 4 hours per week.

General Course Purpose

The purpose of this course is to provide students with an opportunity to become more employable with skills in handling materials in the work place and/or on the job site.

Course Prerequisites/Corequisites

SAF 130 or equivalent.
